Do we look afriad to you? No, because we’re not.

We believe in the Taiwanese people, in Taiwan and we will succeed. Just watch us, it’s only a matter of time.

Let’s take a quick history lesson.

Taiwan is NOT part of China. Taiwan is Taiwan, its own independent free country.

Looking back at in history, I think most of us can remember that China lost several battles to Japan. As a result Japan occupied some of China’s land including Manchuria and Taiwan. (Recall that Taiwan didn’t earn it’s independence until later)

China couldn’t stand to lost Manchuria so they spent thousands of dollars in order to buy the territory back from Japan. But what happened to Taiwan? They didn’t care about the little island, they say it insignificant to the large area of Manchuria. So they let Japan keep it, and you know what? Japan treated Taiwan better than China had ever, they may have violently put down Taiwanese rebellions against their rule. But when you look at the big picture, Japan brought Taiwan to the new age, they helped industrialize Taiwan and make the small island into a self-sufficient country. Finally Taiwan gained its independence and today it still is.

But the ever greedy nation of China is still looking to usurp Taiwan. They claim that Taiwan is rightfully theirs, while that may have held true in the past look at what happened. They abandonned Taiwan to the Japanese and never gave a second glance. So what gives them the right to look back now and argue that it belongs to them. As far as I can see, China’s just being a bully. They see that Kuo Ming Tang’s in power right now so they might actually get a chance of taking Taiwan.

But they forgot one little factor. The spirit of the Taiwanese people. We will never let China take us, Taiwan is an independent country and deserves to stay that way. We believe in the sovereignty of Taiwan and if China wants to take it back by force they’re going to have a long fight to win. We will never give up, the spirit of freedom lives in our hearts and we believe that one day Taiwan will stand strong as an independent nation without any outside threats.

They will rise to triumph because we believe. Because we’re not afriad to stand up for what we know is right.
